FEATURE OF GOVERNMENT
Baghdad, As-Sabah , March 15, Page 1
The Iraqi political forces and organizations have started wide move
through consultations to realize agreement in the course of finding the
ideal formula for the creation of the Iraqi government by June 30th

inside the Governing Council took different sides the 1st one
aims to keep on the formula of current councils i.e it represents the
advisory board (Advisory council) for the coming government which will be
chosen upon consultations with the CPA and active political forces on the
Iraqi arena. The supporters of such trend deem the council is representing
all Iraqi people trends and it received wide acceptance inside
Iraq and abroad. The 2nd direction undertakes expanding the council to
include all segments of the Iraqi society. The supporters of this
direction are hopeful to increase the numbers of the current council into
100 on condition the choice depends on the presence of representatives
from all Iraqi provinces to make available for Iraqi political forces to
have a complete role in political process. The role of UN in the creation
of the government yet broke out discord among members of the Governing
Council as some of them deem the importance for UN to take its active and
effective role in the creation process of new government to add legality
and acceptance feature by Iraqi people. The other group deems the UN role
should be confined to consultation if necessary as being reported by the
interim constitution.
