Ministry of Oil receives 100 modern
tanks

Oil Products Distribution Company, of the Ministry of Oil, has recently
received 100 tanks from several countries. The capacity of each tank is
36.000 liters.A responsible source in the ministry said that these new
tanks will achieve great streamline in distributing oil products to the
gas stations and stores of the ministry in addition to quick
transportation of oil products from abroad.These tanks are among a series
of contracts which the ministry concluded to boost the current Iraqi
land fleet through updating it by new types of tank.

Eric Lankers, in charge of press relations at Iraqi Projects &
Contracts Office, related to Iraq's Reconstruction Program, said that more
than $ 33 billion have been allocated to the projects of building and
infrastructure development.He further said that great concentration is put
on sectors of security, electricity, public utility, water, oil,
transportation, communication, health and education.This is stated in a
symposium held by the office and highlighted the cause of employing
thousands of workless Iraqis and Iraqi companies to eliminated the bulk of
unemployment and make available professional trainings and new talents to
be exploited in management and production.
Allawi denies canceling visit to Iran

Bureau of Iraqi Prime Minister, Dr Ayad Allawi, has denied that he
cncelled his visit to Iran.The official spokesman of the prime minister,
Jerjis Hirmis said that Dr Allawi is about to fix an appointment for this
visit in the framework of a tour underway to a number of Islamic
countries after he ended visit to several Arab countries. He further said
that Dr Allawi is keen on developing and growing positive relations
between the two neighboring countries.
Ministry of Trade observes Iraqi tea
farms in Vietnam

Al-Sabah daily has been informed by a well- informed source in the Iraq's
Ministry of Trade that an official delegate from the General Company for
Foodstuff Trade has left the country heading for Vietnam to hold talks
about the Iraqi tea farms there and how to participate in them and sell
them in future.An authorized source in the ministry said that the property
of these farms is related to the Iraqi Government and that the revenues
are sold in auctions in Vietnam.
Germany ready to train Iraqi cadres

Ambassador of Federal Germany has expressed his country's wish to
take part in Iraq's reconstruction and offer aid and technical advices. He
also said that many German companies are ready to invest in Iraq and train
Iraqi cadres on how to manage the electoral departments.This is reported
through meeting between Mr. Farhan Uthman and the German ambassador to
Baghdad.
600.000 tons of high-quality seeds
imported

The General Company for Seeds Trade in Iraq has imported about
60.000 tons of high-quality seeds for the ration basket.A source in the
company said that a contract has been concluded with Jiaborn Company in
Thailand to import 165.000 tons of rice and another contract with the
Wheat Council in Australia to import 200.000 tons of wheat.Moreover the
Iraqi company has also concluded a contract with the International Karkil
Company to import 20.000 tons of American and Australian wheat.On the
other hand, the Iraqi company has announced that it concluded new other
contacts with the General Company for Transportation of the Ministry of
Transportation in order to transport these amounts of seeds and keep them
in the company's storehouses as quickly as possible.

Danish company

The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation has warned the Danish "Mersic"
Company to handover the Khor Abdullah Port, which is still under the
company's control by order from the British forces since April 2003, to
the Iraqi specialized sides.Identical sources have told Al-Sabah that the
Danish company controlled that port for supplying the multi-national
forces in Iraq with fuel in return for getting unlimited amounts of the
Iraqi oil. This company is still controlling the crude oil pipeline
extending from oil sources in Rumaila directly to the port of Khor
Abdullah.
Deployment of three battalions for quick

Trapped car exploded in Diyala

An explosive device was exploded yesterday near Lieutenant
Colonel Moayed Bashar Al-Janabi's car, the Al-Ma'moun Police commander
which led to his death and wounding two of his companions. This shows that
there are some organized operations to kill police officers and similar in
the way they are done. Last week, a group shot dead Captain Abbas Al-Maleki
who works at Al-Rashad police Station. And before that, officers at Al-Muthana
police Station and Al-Qanat were assassinated. On the other hand, the
central intelligence was able to capture the gang that killed some
officers and they are under investigation.
Basra citizens choose their
representative for the National Congress

The preparatory elections to choose Basra representatives to be members at
the Iraqi National Congress due to be held this month came out with
winning 43 candidates; 11 women and 32 men.Informed sources assured that
many political, religious, parties and currents and civil community
organizations and prominent figures took part at the elections.
Muslim Woman conference begins today

The constitutional conference of the Muslim Woman Federation starts today
at the Central Hall in Baghdad and continues for two days. The conferees
try to shed lights on topics related to the role of woman in the future of
the new Iraq. Authorized sources assured that the conference will discuss
the role of woman in politics, opinion of Islam towards violence and women
in Islam. The sources added that many religious, political, and cultural
charters will take part at the conference that organized by the clerics in
Baghdad and the other provinces.
Najaf Governor: no quarrel between us &
Sadr & no arrest warrant for Semesim

After the clashes between a US patrol and number of Mehdi Army, Njaf
governor Mr. Adnan Al-Zerfi held yesterdays a news conference in which he
clarified that the US patrol wasn't intending Muqtada Sadr's house but
they were doing their job. He added that Mahdi army opening fire on the US
patrol was violation of the truce and that what caused the clashes to
happen again. Talking about arresting sheik Ali Semesim, Al-Zerfi said
there is no arrest warrant for Sheik Semesim and we welcome his
cooperation with us to end the crisis Najaf is witnessing now. He added
that what happened some days ago was misunderstanding, for some people
made a violence arcts at Passport Directorate near college of Arts, where
Semesim was. Speaking about negotiations with Sadr, he said negotiations
are underway with the coalition forces by the intervention of the Shitte
House and we urged all to hurry up in signing the agreement to regain
stability and security to the city.
Expired cheese coming to Iraq

Border police has confiscated two trucks coming from Kuwait loaded with
expired cheese to be sold to Iraqi tradesmen. The Southern Border Police
refused to release the two trucks after issuing a law order to release
them from the Southern costumes investigation directorate. A health source
said that the cheese caused the death of many kids and letting them go
with it will make the health security in Iraq to be in a catastrophe.
The station has also refused the judge's order to release a
shipment of 2000 tons of fuel to be smuggled outside Iraq. The brigadier
general Hamadi Al-Mosawi assured that they will adapt severe procedures
with people like them to hinder them from harming the Iraqi economy.
An expanded meeting to discuss
educational problems held

ministry said that the conference will depict the problems of education in
