1st IRAQI PLANE LANDED AT
BAGHDAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The 1st Iraqi plane that belong to the airway
state company has landed at the Baghdad airport Monday noon coming from
Amman announcing the start of the air flights after 14 years halt .On
board the plane were the minister of transport and a number of directors
general at the ministry,.In the meantime, the minister held a press
conference at the airport in which he clarified the resumption of the
Iraqi airliners flights.It is hopeful the planes would be increased into
four modern Boeing 776 as the company undertook opening its offices that
distributed allover Iraq ,clarifying that the Iraqi people are now able to
travel on board the Iraqi airliners.
JAPAN PLANS TO BOOST COOPERATION
WITH IRAQ

Mr. Housda the Japanese government's spokesman said that the
concept of realizing peace in Iraq is considered as a basic pillar for
reconstructing Iraq and realizing prosperity.Interviewed by As-Sabah , the
Japanese state minister the secretary general of the Japanese cabinet
ministers said that the Japanese parliament gave permission to send
Japanese forces into Iraq to contribute in the humanitarian tasks , adding
that in a time several countries objected such task , Japan is among the
grand countries offered five billions dollar as a donation for Iraq
.Replying to As-Sabah question regards the scheduled donors conference in
Japan and Japan's plans to support the Iraqi interim government, Mr.
Housda said that Japan's has different programs and plans in cooperation
with Japan's foreign ministry regarding Iraq."We understand that the oil
is an important factor that has the priority in Iraq's exports, but we
have to develop other fields as electricity, waters and basic necessities
for the population in addition to the Iraqi industry which is meant there
is a sequence of priorities". Mr Housda concluded.
ALLAWI ATTENDS 1ST
MEETING OF OIL SUPREME COUNCIL

The 1st meeting of oil and gas supreme council has been held
recently. The meeting is chaired by Dr. Iyad Allawi the Iraqi prime
minister, attended by Dr. Barham Salih the deputy premier, Eng. Thamir
Gadban the minister of oil and a number of technicians and experts in the
field of oil." several topics on top that the situation of oil ,
operations of targeting the oil installations , means of protecting them ,
Iraq's exportation and production situation , planning policies ,
investment and the international relations have been discussed " , Mr.
Ghadban said.He added that the conferees agreed on activating Iraq's role
and representation in the world international organizations, referring to
the causes behind the creating of such council that includes government's
parties to get acquainted with the oil situation in Iraq upon the
initiative of the ministry of oil since Iraq possesses grand oil riches
.Al- Gadban indicated to the ministry's plans of openness to the private
sector through participation in the investment especially in the field of
transport and distribution.
SOME MINISTRIES IN BAGHDAD ATTACKED
AIR RAIDS ON CITY OF AL- SADR

Several ministries in Baghdad have subjected to the mortar attacks
i.e the ministries of interior and industry. The building of the oil
ministry subjected also into the fire by unknown persons who used rocket
propelled grenades. Meanwhile, the middle region electricity directorate
subjected to the PBG7 rounds wounding more than ten of the guardsmen,
policemen and the civilians, causing harm in a number of cars . Notably
the oil installations' protection forces countered the attackers.In the
meantime, the city of Al- Sadr was witnessed expanded clashes between the
gunmen from one side and the forces of the national guard and the Iraqi
police from another backed up by the US planes . The clashes killed a
number of the civilians, and caused material damages on the residential
sites.Witnesses said that the US planes targeted gunmen who used developed
rocket propelled grenades as they distributed on the housetops hunting the
police and National Guard forces.
ID 55 BILLIONS FOR IMPLEMENTING
WATER & SANITATION PROJECTS

The ministry of labor and municipalities has allotted about 54, 750
billions Iraqi dinars for implementing the projects of water and
sanitation within the ministry's consultative plan for 2004 , to implement
more than 211 projects allover Iraq.Mr. Thanoon Hassan Ahmed the director
general of the sewerage department said that these projects range among 92
projects for rehabilitating the sewerage nets , 45 projects for
implementing and setting new nets , 24 projects for establishing
storehouses and fences for the sewerage departments , 10 projects for
establishing new buildings for the belonged departments in addition to 30
projects for erecting treatment units and 10 projects for carrying out new
sewerage projects. |
