SH'ALAAN THREATENS AL-
SADR LOYALISTS WITH COUP DE GRACE

The US armored force has mobilized around Imam Ali Shrine
indicating more growing of the crisis amid the stoppage of the political
efforts that coincided with the outbreak of the military clashes between
Al- Sadr loyalists and the Iraqi and US forces. That military escalation
is accompanied by the escalation of threatening released by Al- Sh'laan
the minister of interior and the leader of the National Guard Major
General Mudhir al- Maulla who threatened to break into Imam Ali Shrine
forcefully.There are some indications that Najaf crisis might be expanded
to include all the southern cities through the distribution of scores of
gunmen loyal to Al- Sadr trend in Basra.Notably, the city of Najaf
witnessed most violent clashes in the last days. The US tanks were seen
roaming the neighboring roads of Imam Ali shrine. Meanwhile, Al- Sh'laan
threatened Al- Sadr loyalists with coup de grace, saying that the force
which will carry out the raid on Imam Ali Shrine will be pure Iraqi force
and the US forces has no role in this operation.
MORE THAN 100 SERVICE
PROJECTS ACHIEVED

The cadres of the ministry of municipalities and labor have
achieved more than 100 service project within the ministry's plan for
2004.Eng. Rakaan al- A'laaf the director general of municipalities
clarified that the service projects that achieved in Baghdad and other
cities included paving, covering and cleaning the roads besides planting
the road isles with seedlings further for establishing new municipality
headquarters in the districts.The projects range among 15 projects in the
southern provinces, 42 in the middle region and 45 projects in the
northern region.In the meantime, the ministry continues its 2nd campaign
for realizing the project"Towards beautiful and clean Iraq". That project
is aiming to improve the environmental situation of the Iraqi cities and
put a limit for the contagious diseases owing to the accumulation of germs
and viruses transferring the epidemics.
IRAQI PLANT FOR MANUFACTURING

The Iraqi ministry of industry has signed a contract with US
Company, to establish a factory for manufacturing 90,000 GMC vehicles with
annual productivity energy 130,000 Pick up vehicles, 10,000 other kind of
vehicles.Mr. Hachim al- Hassani the minister of industry said that his
ministry is to adopt practical steps for implementing the project which is
considered one of several other projects are to be implemented in
coordination with the companies.On the other hand, the Iraqi federation of
industries signed a contract for the industrial cooperation with a number
of Arab and foreign countries.Mr. Qais al- Khafaji the chief of the
federation said that this cooperation includes the Egyptian federation of
industries, Amman chamber of industry, Abu Dhabi chamber of industry and
commerce and Damascus chamber of industry.He added that other contracts
were signed between the Iraqi federation of industries and a number of
foreign countries and organizations i.e Italy, Iran and Sweden.
IRAQ REJECTS PARTICIPATION
IN NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES CONFERENCE

Anew, Iraq has rejected any initiative from neighboring countries
and organizations regards solving Najaf crisis.Mr. Hoshiar Zibari the
minister of foreign affairs said that Iraq will not support any attempt to
make this crisis as international one and reject participation in the
conferences held in this concern as the cause is considered as pure Iraqi
interior affair, demanding all Arab and Islamic governments to take a
suitable position in denouncing criminal and non-Islamic practices through
violating the holiness of the sanctities. Zibari denied the interference
of the multi –national forces or any foreign parties in treating the
crisis, affirming the government's demands in dissolving all militias and
evacuating Imam Ali shrine.He indicated to the several meetings held with
the representatives of some neighboring countries to get them acquainted
with the reflections of the crisis and crystallize view points.
CHILDREN INFECTED WITH
CHRONIC DISEASES TREATED OUTSIDE IRAQ

The Ministry of Heath received an offer from different countries to treat
the Iraqi children infected with chronic diseases that can not be treated
in the Iraqi hospitals due to the shortages of technical and financial
potentialities. An official source at the Ministry said that they already
send 8 children infected with cardiac and blood diseases to be treated in
hospitals in Croatia and worked on facilitating the travel of those
children to be treated there. The source added that the Ministry intends
to send about 108 children to be treated in hospitals in India and America
after receiving a call from an American organization to treat this number
of children. The ministry has also received similar offers from England,
and Italy to send another group of children.On the other hand, the
ministry called on humanitarian organizations to treat kids infected with
heart, blood diseases and fractures as the kids with these diseases
reached about 4152 cases.
MINISTER OF TRADE: "FOOD TRUCK LOOTED
IN THE SOUTH THREATENS FOOD RATION"

The minister of Trade Mohammed Al-Juburi said that some trucks
loaded with foodstuff were looted yesterday by gunmen in Amara under the
pretext that these trucks are the city's share of food ration. The
minister said that those armed group unloaded a truck full of sugar,
indicating that those people confiscated some trucks three days ago. And
these acts are dangerous on the foodstuff storage. He added that the
ministry has big cargos of foodstuff at Basra ports did not put on
storages due to the security situation there. And the trucks that are
supposed to go to Najaf, their drivers are still subjected to attacks from
unknown groups.
The minister
added that along the attacks on the trucks of the ministry, many trucks
were stolen during the war and smuggled to Kurdistan, Iran, Syria and
Jordan, in addition to what is being stolen now. He said that the ministry
gave the chassis numbers of the stolen trucks to be regained to Iraq. |
