IRAQI PLANES FOR PROTECTING VITAL
INSTALLATIONS

Eight of Iraqi pilots started to receive training courses at Basra
airport .The lectures concentrates on the reconnaissance planes
specialized in monitoring the oil wells and the electricity stations in
the south for the sake of maintaining security and system and avert acts
of sabotage against the vital installations.An official source at Basra
international airport said that these planes have the ability of flying
six hours , and provided with infra-red rays to send photos and record
quick films ,saying that there are other eight planes for this purpose
will be imported from Australia.
HEALTH MINISTRY DENIES SPREAD OF
EPIDEMICS IN NAJAF

The ministry of health has denied what is circulated by the news agencies
about the spread of the epidemics in the city of Najaf because of the
latest developments.Dr. Ni'ma Sa'eed the director of the health prevention
and primary health care said that the ministry sent a team includes
members of all health departments to make assessments on the needs of
Najaf's population in the health and preventive fields. The committee will
compensate the health institutions and providing them with appliances and
equipments lost during the destruction happened in the city and sabotage
acts.He referred that the problem that faces with the ministry of health
is how to deal with corpses and some injured thought under rubble.He
confirmed that the campaign is in dire need for the support of other
sectors to avert the heath problems, saying that the vaccination campaign
in Najaf will be carried out in the specified date 4th
September.

The Iraqi minister of transport and its Iranian counterpart signed an
agreement of cooperation in field of railway.Eng. Salam Jabur al- Abbasi
the director general of the Iraqi railway state company said that Iraq
received a proposal from the Iranian side to contribute in restructuring
and manufacturing the main trains besides supplying the moving units with
the concrete blocks.Notably, the ministry of transport is to set railway
connecting Iraq with Iran within the ministry's plan aiming to make Iraq
as a link between Europe, south eastern Asia and the Gulf States through
connecting Iraq's railway net with the neighboring countries.

Mr. Duraid Muhammed Kashmoula the governor of Neneveh said that the
execution sentence has been resumed and became valid law in the city .At
the weekly conference , Mr. Kashmoula said that the kidnapping and
deliberate killing will be among the said cases , stressing that the
police directorate in serious in implementing the instructions issued by
the ministry of interior regards arresting the criminals , denying that
these procedures is a violation on the judgment .On the other hand , a
security source at the province's council announced the defense ministry's
intention to increase numbers of regiments concentrated in the city of
Mosul into four or five ones, referring to the scheduled new regiments to
accept large numbers of the former Iraqi army to contribute in maintaining
the system and security.

Dr. Tahir Khalaf al- Bakaam the minister of higher education and
scientific research has met Jalal Basho the representative of UNISCO in
Baghdad .During the meeting, Al- Bakaam called on the humanitarian
concerned organizations to practice their role in putting pressure on the
governments and states to lift Iraq's debts, referring to Iraq's grand
potentialities.The minister inquired what the UNISECO has achieved in Iraq
since the collapse of Saddam until now, urging to activate the
organization's work and services, expressing frustration over the UNIESCO
level of performance. |
