170 BILLIONS DINARS FOR IRAQ'S RECONSTRUCTION, WORK OPPORTUNITIES

The Ministry of Labor and Municipalities has allocated 170 billions dinars from the World Bank , to implement 14 infrastructure projects allover Iraq.Eng. Nisreen Mustafa Berwari the Minister of Labor and Municipalities said that the Ministry submitted plans on several projects to the international bank. All projects were accepted. The 1st stage will be signed in mid October to implement these projects in the coming year. About  $ 90 or equivalence to 135 billions dinars were allocated for the 1st stage to implement 12 projects, about 20-25 millions dollar or equivalence to 35 billions dinars to implement other two projects within the 2nd stage.Berwari clarified that the projects of the 1st stage include seven rehabilitation water projects besides constructing new institutes in the cities and projects for water purification in the rural region as well as four projects for the structural promotion include paving the road sides and road isles as well as rehabilitating the folkloric markets . Mrs. Berwari confirmed that selecting these projects put into consideration the urgent needs and the balance of the geographical regulation.The costs of these projects are donations from the World Bank, but not loans .The ministry prepared all potentialities necessary for implementing and preparing technical requirements and the tables of quantities, planning and the maps.These projects will make available large numbers of work opportunities that contribute in eliminating the unemployment. 

BASRA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO BE OPENED SOON

An official source at Basra International Airport is announcing that Airport is to be opened for international navigation and planes for transporting commodities in limited numbers by the end January 2005.He said that the flights of the passengers will start by the end March 2005, adding the airport will make flights available round the day and in all metrological circumstances by end July 2005 . The opening of the airport in field of the international flights and commodities transport will have great importance in promoting the Iraqi southern economy. 

AL- ZARQAWI ASSISTANT CAPTURED

General Lasel the US forces spokesman has declared the capture of most important assistant of Al- Zarqawi in the course of the current military operations in Falluja. But he denied any explanations on the name of the detainee.At a press conference held Sunday, General Rasel indicated that the US forces realized successes through the air strikes against Al- Zarqawi dens in Falluja four weeks ago that killed most of them.He indicated that the number of prisoners related to Al- Zarqawi is exceeding 100, clarifying that the intelligence information referred to the executions carried out against some of  Al- Zarqawi assistants from within the network itself because of the  continued disputes  between them.He said that six grand ammunition depots were found in the 24 last hours in Haifa Street , Basra and Najaf , some of which are belonged to Al- Zarqawi.He admitted that the US forces could not assure % 100 about the civilians victims in Falluja because Al- Zarqawi resorted to residential sites as human shields.He said that the US forces have evidences on the presence of foreign fighters in Falluja intimidating the population and forcing them for unacceptable works. 

IRAQ REFUTES ALLEGATION OF NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES

Iraq has refuted the allegations of the neighboring countries on the health and environmental damages caused by the 2nd Gulf War in 1991 and their demands of financial compensations. Iraq has considered these allegations as exaggerated claims.The Iraqi delegation to the negotiations is consisting of representatives from ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs beside jurists and technical experts. They were able to clarify the situation in front UN compensations committee and convince the committee on dropping claims which are not sticking to legal evidence.Notably, the neighboring countries namely Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkey were offered requests with tens of billions of dollars under a pretext of the damage their countries subjected to in the same period.  

IRAQ, JORDAN ENHANCE COMMERCIAL TIES

Iraq and Jordan have signed on September 25 a joint Iraqi –Jordanian minute which held for the 1st time since the collapse of the ex-regime.Muhammed Mustafa al- Jubouri the Iraqi Minister of Trade has signed the minute for the Iraqi side, while his Jordanian counterpart Muhammed al- Halaiqa was signed it on the other side.Al- Jubouri said that Iraq seeks to develop its relations with Jordan particularly Iraq's joint committees, indicating that the Iraqi side is studying the Jordanian offer to establish free trade zone between the two countries , confirming that several trade aspects that  discussed during the meeting have been agreed on.Both sides have agreed to study six agreements represented by Jordanian side in domains of avoiding taxes' dualism , tax-evasion prevent and projects of joint administrative cooperation for the accurate implementation of customs legislations in addition to other projects connected with encouraging and protecting investment as well as signing cooperative protocol within World Trade Organization. 

BIGLEY FAMILY ASK IRAQI PEOPLE HELP

The  family of the British hostage Kenneth Bigley who was kidnapped in Iraq several days ago , has addressed a call for the Iraqi people to help releasing him.The call includes phrases say " We are the family of Kenneth Bigely , his mother, wife , brothers and son who love him so much , we ask your help because we are waiting the return of Kenneth " . The call excerpted the feeling of his mother, 86, saying "Since we heard the kidnapping, we have been destroyed, we urge the kidnappers to release him to back home safely" . Notably, a delegation from British Muslims is visiting Iraq currently to discuss the possibility of releasing him especially after several contradicting news dispatched in one of Islamic internet webs on his beheading.
