NEGOTIATIONS ARE UNDERWAY TO SOLVE SADR CITY CRISIS

Well acquainted sources said that the negotiations have got underway between Al- Sadr assistants and the US forces to end the fighting in the city of Al- Sadr as the city has witnessed violent acts .The sources affirmed that the underway negotiations are held by Jawdaat al- Ubaidi the chief of the unified democratic and national conference with the aim to soothe the situations in the city and remove all phenomena of the armed fighting through the ideas and proposal submitted by both sides . It is hopeful the outcomes of the negotiations will be announced in a press conference.Notably, Mr. Nema al- Allawi , Selman al- Allawi the representative of Muqtada al- Sadr in the Sadr city participate in the negotiations.

SOUTHERN PROVINCES DISCUSS RECONSTRUCTION DRIVE

Mr. Adnan al- Shareefi in charge of human rights organization, the assistant of Thi Qar province said that it was decided to hold the conference of the advisory and municipal councils in Thi Qar with the attendance of Iyad Allawi the Iraqi prime minister.The conference comes under the hard circumstances facing the Iraqi southern cities that requiring enhancing their resources and not marginalizing their role since there is no leading figure from the ministry in these cities.On the other hand, the chief human rights organization affirmed discussing abrogation what is put forth regards the regions federalism and finding coordination committee called southern cities coordination committee to make available an opportunity for the southern cities to have a role in the reconstruction campaign.

The chairmanship of the cabinet ministers has addressed a statement. The statement stipulates compensating the martyrs fell in criminal acts in Hai al- Amil with $ 1000 for each family.The statement said:
"Our patriotic government is expressing its condolences to the families' relatives and the Iraqi people over the criminal terrorist bombing occurred in Amil District in Baghdad on 30th September 2004" ." And as it expressed its regret and condolences, it announced the decision to offer help and donations $ 1000 for each family. Renewing pledge of retaliation and chasing the killers". 

MOH&C CARRIES OUT RESIDENTIAL COMPOUNDS INSTEAD OF FOREIGN COMPANIES

The housing state board is studying the tenders of residential compounds in four cities namely Najaf, Kerbala , Diyala and Muthana instead of the foreign companies.Eng. Alaa Hussein Muhssen the director of the board declared that the board is tackling the tender of the new residential compounds in Qadissiya , Wassit and Dhi Qar , clarifying that the board attempts to obtain the approvals for the sake of allocating the pieces of lands in the Iraqi cities and make surveys and checks for other numbers of lands to meet the provinces' needs for constructing residential compounds.Notably, the Ministry of Housing and Construction has contracted with Arab and foreign companies to build residential compounds in Iraq , but the said companies breached these contracts despite the repeated calls and notices addressed by the ministry for these companies. 

MINISTRY OF ELECTRICITY SEEKS TO RENEW CONTRACT WITH SYRIA

The ministry of electricity has sought to renew the Iraqi-Syrian contract stipulates supplying Iraq with 50 mega watt of the electricity energy.Mr. Haitham Taha the electricity affairs advisor at the ministry said that the ministry seeks to decrease purchasing prizes of the electricity energy imported from Syria and Turkey which supply Iraq with 80 mw, saying that Duhook province is the only beneficiary of this quantity, adding that the ministry decided to increase the quantities of the electricity imported from Turkey to 150 mw for the benefit of Duhook and Mosul.Taha affirmed the possibility of the Iraqi-Kuwait technical link to supply Iraq with 300 mw, clarifying that the ministry is making contacts to connect Iraq with the septa electricity connection including Egypt, Libya, Jordan, Syria , Turkey , Lebanon and Iraq .
