It did not ever happen that any government official
in post dictator collapse had approved media notices against him. Many newspapers
in addition to al-Sabah wrote critical notes for directing thngs towards the
right way and public interest, which means serving people in their daily needs
of fuel, power, prices employment and housing in addition to problems of
corruption. These services are the main demands by people while the media role is
to concentrate on the said services and demands but some of the officials look
at the media role with sensitivity that may lead to upset.A minister had cut ads
from the newspaper because of publishing negative and critical feature on his
ministry, and another official considered one of the reporters an adversary for
him because of his critical reports. Some officials used a language of threats. So
with all letters from the officials no one admitted his faults or said that
reports were right, why?
